How it Works

In order to enable people to pay for tickets online (using a credit card) you will require an account with either one of the two payment processors we work with- Stripe or Paypal. Each time someone purchases a ticket through Whoozin, the proceeds (net of fees) are deposited into your Stripe or Paypal account. Money from that account can then be deposited directly into your bank account (you can specify the intervals at which money should be automatically transferred- weekly for example).

In terms of fees, the two credit card processors charge the same rate: 2.9% of the amount + $0.30. Note that if someone buys more than one ticket, the $0.30 is on a per order basis and not a per ticket basis. Whoozin charges $1.00 per ticket + 1%, and the fee is taken automatically at the time of the order. All funds are US$.

If you don’t have an account with either of the two payment processors, the setup process is a little easier with Stripe. You can create a Stripe account instantly, through Whoozin, when setting up your event- and you will be able to receive payments immediately; however, you should then log in to your new Stripe account (you will receive an email) and add your bank account information. Alternatively, you can go to http://paypal.com, set up a Verified Paypal account, and then specify the email address of that account when you create your ticketing event on Whoozin.

Do you need the ability to issue tickets that will not be paid for online? Whoozin lets you do that.

  • Specify one or more offline payment methods (such as “pay by cheque” or “pay at the door”) that a purchaser can select.
  • Choose whether the Whoozin processing fees ($1 + 1% per ticket) should be added on to the ticket price.
  • You will receive an invoice for the Whoozin processing fees one or two days after the event date.
  • Of course, you are responsible for collecting payment for tickets with an offline payment method.
  • You can enable both offline payment and online (credit card) payment for the same event- so that the purchaser will have the choice. Click “Stripe” or “Paypal” in the above menu to read more about Whoozin’s online payment facilities.

Why Choose Whoozin?

  • Low $1 + 1% pricing on tickets sold.
  • Transparency. Whatever the credit card processing method, and whether or not you add the processing fee to the ticket price – the Whoozin processing fee is always $1 + 1% of the ticket price.
  • Beware of sites which mislead by incorporating the $0.30 component into their ticket processing fee. The $0.30 base charged by payment processors is “per order”, and not “per ticket”. With Whoozin, if someone orders 5 tickets, the $0.30 base is charged only once.
  • Loads of features and excellent support.
  • All the benefits of the Whoozin RSVP system including:
    • Appealing event pages
    • Ability to enter/import contacts and send invitations (and/or share a link to the event page)
    • Excellent features to help manage a group with recurring events
